Linear Art Project

Over the last few weeks after the Math and Reading STAAR I made art with linear in Desmos. I work on equations to put into Desmos because I originally did every thing on paper. How I thought of the dessine is that I got done with the STAAR and I have more STAARs coming up.

Advice for Fith Grade

Oh, don’t worry about the teachers for the first one or two weeks. Two pieces of advice I have for incoming 6th graders is that you need to never forget your things and to never get no your teacher’s bad side.

You should never forget any of your stuff. If you forget any of your things you can’t go back for it, call your parent or guardian. When you forget your stuff you will get a mark and if you get so many marks you will have to go to lunch detention and a warning that needs to be signed by an adult.

You shouldn’t get on your teacher’s bad side. If you do your year could get worse or rooned. You could get more homework than the rest of your class. Your planner can have a lot of marks.

Oh, don’t worry about the teacher s on the last two days of school. These are some things you should not forget for 6th grade, don’t forget your stuff and be on your teachers good side.

Support

You miss the point spot, but the person you are sparring and they get a point. You still see your parents smiling at you. In the book “I Am Malala” Malala’s parents smiling at you. Support can help you keep going through the hard times and you can have a positive outlook on life, Malala’s parents stood by her when she was speaking out for women’s rights.                                                 You can keep going through the hard times. Think of a time you were supported by someone. Like when I kept losing my karate matches, but my parents kept supporting me so I would not give up. I started winning my matches. Sill, you are supported by someone else you may feel like something is missing right, that is when you start supporting yourself. Like when Malala stood in her bathroom mirror practicing her speeches.                       You can have a positive outlook on life. Think of a time you or someone had a positve out look. When Malala’s father supported her, she started to see a better pleace for every one.  When my parents support me, I see that I don’t half to have the highest score on a test or be the best at sports. I just half to know I did my best no matter how bad I am at it.                                               Support will keep you going through the hard times and can have a positive out look of others. If you feel like your sad, then you can make a note book filled compluments and nothing negative.

Communicating with Humans, Communicating through Tech

“We don’t speak anymore. But you talk more than ever.” By Daniel Russell. While some differences between communicating with people and communicating with technology are noticeable, the similarities are salient.

Here are some similarities between communicating in person and communicating with technology. You can see each other”s face. You can talk with Friends and family. You can be at two family gatherings at once. Your grandparents invite you to two different family gatherings. You can go to the closest family gathering and face time the other family gathering. These are a few similarity.

Here are some differences between communicating in person and communicating with technology. When you get cyberbullied it effects you mentally and emotionally, you may be one of thousands of suicides that die. When your bullied face to face it can be verbally and physically. You can tell someone and it can end. These are a few difference.

Now you learnd a little more about communicating or you didn’t. Eather way you know some similarities, and some differences.

Chistmas with the Family

I see old families

New families

Baby cousins

Embarrassing brother

Grandpa makes turkey

Grandma makes ham

Preparing for more family

You can smell the hard work

Wafting through the air

Pine, fresh turkeys, sealing ham

The scents of the people coming and going

It was time to eat

Turkey fell off the bone

Ham was juicy

Pieces were sweet, delectable

You can taste the love

Seeping

From every bite

Reflection of “Out of My Mind”

I’ll be who I am                                                                                                     I won’t be taken down                                                                                           I’ll be as strong as I can be                                                                                                                                                                      I will work hard                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          I’ll be happy as a pup                                                                                                                                                                               But I can not talk                                                                                                                                                                                     I will blossom one day                                                                                                                                                                            I will be a magnificent rose                                                                                                                                                           That can stick a thorn in you                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   My friends don’t understand me                                                                                                                                                            I want them to understand                                                                                                                                                                  Me                                                                                                                                                                                                             for me                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            I’ll be me for me                                                                                                                                                                                  I’ll be strong                                                                                                                                                                                             I’ll make it work

Literary Response

The character that I connected to the most is Melody. From “Out of My Mind.” Melody and I both have younger siblings. “Penny! Nooooo! Mrs.V calls out.” Indeed Melody has a little sister and I have a little brother. Melody and I sorta have and had the same pets. Melody had a fish named Ollie. “But suddenly, for no reason I could figure, Ollie dove down down to the bottom of his bowl, rushed to the top, and hurled himself right out of the bowl.” I had fishes they all died of nacheral causes. Melody went to inclusion classes and I went to special classes. “But these classes are supposed to give kid like me a chance to interact with what everybody else called normal student’s.” That is why I’m like Melody.

Sharon Draper

Here is what I like about Sharon Draper’s book. I like that Sharon Draper created a character that is relatable. “Since I never had trouble thinking or remembering, it actually sort of surprised me that I couldn’t do stuff. And it made me angry.” She feels likes she trapped in her own body. Like us sometimes. Sharon Draper’s book lets us feel what Melody feels. “Brightly colored packages of plastic blocks. Just that morning I had seen a warning on television about that toy – they were being recalled because the blocks had been paint with lead paint.” She is wearing for others so I can tell she is kind. Sharon Draper gives an unusual point of view. “I can’t talk. I can’t walk. I can’t feed myself or take myself to the bathroom. Big bummer.” The main character can’t talk or take keir of herself. Sharon Draper’s book is a lot better than you would think. At first it is slow than it gets better.

Earth Day

Every year on April 22, men, women, and children collect garbage, plant trees, clean up coral reefs.

April 22, 1970. Is when it began.

Remember 20 million people gathered in the streets of America to protest the industrial revolution.

The founder was Gaylord Nelson.

History says that more than 100,000 people rode bikes in China.

Disney released a documentary film called Earth that followed animal families.

Afghanistan’s people planted 28 million trees in 2011.

You can make a change.
